Music, Music, Music!

May 21

Off we go to listen to some great music!  Debbie Coutorie, Michelle Leining and I are headed to Branson, Missouri.  Flying from Houston to Tulsa, OK

then renting a car for a 3-hour drive into Branson.
After checking into our hotel/condo (Marriott Vacation Club Willow Ridge Lodge)
for the week we headed over to dinner and performances at the Point Royale Golf Course Country Club.  This was a sampling of some of the performances here in Branson.

Next stop...Mickey Gilley's Theatre for the Urban Cowboy Reunion Tour featuring Mickey Gilley and Johnny Lee.

Having our picture taken with the boys!

Since we had such a long day yesterday, we slept in a bit then headed to historic downtown Branson.

Next up...lunch at Chick Filet then on to the #1 Hits of the 60's, a fabulous show!  One of my favorites!!

Debbie being crooned by the performer!!

Next up, a little down time at the condo and pool.

Dinner was eaten at the Longhorn Steak House then on to the New Jersey Nights Show.

Today's activities start off with The Good Ole Boys Show.  It was another one of my favorites!

Next stop...College of the Ozarks for a tour and late lunch/dinner.  The kids that attend here never pay tuition...they work for their education!  Novel idea!!!
 The Keeter Center

A mother Swan and her babies
 How cute is this?

 Tomatoes growing in the greenhouse.
 Stained Glass Shop
Edwards Mill
 Just so beautiful!
Williams Memorial Chapel

Once we returned from this last stop, we were supposed to go to a wine & cheese gathering in the hotel lobby but we all slept right though it...yes we all took an afternoon nap!  Next on the list was to view the Branson Landing Fountain Show.

Our last show of the day was to the Motown Show.  The music was great!

May 24

Today's adventures take us out to Table Rock Dam.  At the base of the dam is a fish hatchery where they raise fish to be released into the lake.

Next stop...Hwy. 165 Scenic Overlook.  Beautiful views!

Next stop...the Branson Belle dinner cruise on Table Rock Lake.

Headed back to the Marriott and took some on-site pictures.
Hostas

 Clematis flower
How about some shuffleboard???

Next and last show of the week...Dolly Parton's Dixie Stampede and dinner.  This was a great show!  And by the way, no utensils...have to eat everything with your fingers!!!

May 25

Today we leave for home, but before we do we made a few stops on our way back to the airport.
Thorncrown Chapel, a wooden structure nestled in the woods outside Eureka Springs rises 48 feet, has 425 windows and over 6,000 square feet of glass.  The chapel's simple design and majestic beauty combine to make it what critics called "one of the finest religious spaces of modern times."  What a beautiful and peaceful setting to pray and reflect on God's good graces.

Window into the soul of the earth
Our last stop before the airport...Eureka Springs for a little window shopping and lunch.

 Concert in the park

Till next time...

It's not the destination, but the journey!
